North Queensland Fury v Perth Glory 11-December-2009 www.a-league.com.au Fury hold off Glory North Queensland Fury settled for a 1-0 win over Perth Glory after a spate of missed chances at Dairy Farmers Stadium on Friday night. The Furys David Williams netted his first goal in the Hyundai A-League in the 32nd minute with a second-ditch header over the goalkeeper. It should have been the first of at least four with 17 attempts on goal and eight corners but simple shots were skewered and possession fumbled as execution was again their downfall. The Glory were never in the match except for a short burst after the break with a ‘Hail Mary’ long shot and in the dying minutes with sustained pressure in the box but could only manage six attempts on goal and five corners. North Queensland had its first opportunity in the third minute with a slick attacking move finding Jeremy Brockie in front of goal but his shot was fired straight into the goalkeeper’s legs. Matthew Smith thumped a long ball from the defensive line in the 26th minute which again found Brockie but he could not provide any power or direction with his header. Paul Kohler fired the ball into the defenders which bounced into the path of Williams in the 32nd minute but his initial strike was blocked and was forced to head the rebound into the net to open the scoring. The Fury could have doubled their lead in the 40th and 42nd minutes with a delicate through ball finding Brockie but his shot skewered wide and then a …

@IrishMartin
Neither does the rest of Australia.
NQF do have a Scottish coach.

Why is God taking corners when he is a potent striker? I dont get it.

@Mercenarystar
It appears that he is not capable getting results at the Glory.
Until this year he was complaining that he didnt have the stock.
At the start of this season he was complaining that the Glory had to play away
At GCU v Glory Glory players arguing telling Mitch what to do.
Team selections etc etc etc
Mercenarystar on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 4:40 am
Wait so your saying Mitchell is the reason why we are doing badly?
nostroKeeper on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 5:06 am
@Mercenarystar
Why you are still playing rubbish
MITCHELL
The buck stops there
No more excuses
Mercenarystar on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 5:21 am
@nostroKeeper Yeah we have the players but why are we still playing rubbish? I don’t know what the cause was but watching that game on tv was terrible. NQF deserved that by far they were easily the best on the day. I don’t think chris coyne, mile sterjovski, and jacob are in the right zone at the moment they are not focusing on the club. and yeah i hope we can get nikita back in transfer for acouple of games ( loan )

how useless was brockie!? lol @ his shitness, barely even hit the target from inside the damn penalty area
Mercenarystar on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 8:43 am
Time for a change? I believe so, we need someone like newcastle’s coach, mitch doesn’t get the results. I know sometimes teams have crap seasons but after the time mitch has been in charge how far has he got us?
becthebanana on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 9:25 am
i was at the end…but they put that stupid comment sign over me
aussiecricketer on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 9:52 am
Of course. Give him the rest of the season and then he needs to go Mitch, which is a shame because I like him, but he tactically doesn’t cut it, and now the players are not motivated which means he may have lost his authority.
JDude577 on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 10:39 am
NQF ROCK!!!!!!!!!
Mercenarystar on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 10:50 am
Gawd that was horrible to watch, NQ deserved to win that game perth now will go down to like 7th which is what we deserve, Dunno what is going on but at the moment perth glory are abit of a joke, we have good players ( decent ) and we are still not getting the results? after so many years of coming last almost everytime how many more years are fans going to have to wait for the ” glory” days to come back. bring ruka back =(
Phil28168 on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 10:50 am

@aussiecricketer
Last year they said HE didnt have the cattle (I didnt think so)
This year HE started with excuses.
HE is the one that picks the team and
HE is the one that tells them how to play and train
HE is the one WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HARMONY
The buck stops with HE

lol srhoj needs to wake up.. when he is, he does some blooder wonders..
macchilavel on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 1:15 pm
Perth just don’t have anything in centre midfield, their only creativity comes form Sikora and Pellegrino and they need Jelic’s guile.
DeadmansInkXXX on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 1:59 pm
Fury needed that win.
aussiecricketer on Tue, 5th Oct 2010 2:42 pm
What a debacle that was. Insipid performance from Perth. Sterjovski can leave tomorrow for a loan deal if he isn’t going to put in 100%. Shroj should stay in Townsville because he is lethargic and lazy, Mitchell needs to act and stop this poor attitude creeping into the team.
