Coral bleaching occurs when corals get too hot. Bleached corals are essentially sick corals and although they can recover, if temperatures are too warm for too long, the corals will die. Coral bleaching and in some cases death, is an impact of climate change.

www.reefari.com Some sensational footage of a big school of Trevally, swimming around the boat on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Check out the Trevally (Jacks) swimming after anything that moves. They hung around the boat for an hour and was truly some great fishing, on lures and plastics. Double and triple hookups were common and all fish released. If only fishing was this good all the time, unreel weather and some awesome fishing action. Please subscribe for more great fishing action and tips, Cheers Greg http

Spanish Mackerel Fishing video at Three Rocks!! Great Barrier Reef!!

www.reefari.com A great fishing video showing some nice Spanish(King) Mackerel caught trolling 3 Rocks off Mackay. This is a beautiful island about 30 nautical miles due east off Mackay, very scenic with beautiful beaches and fringing coral reef. It’s also a great dive spot with beautiful coral, clownfish and good water visibility and worth a snorkel if you get chance, some of the best diving around the local islands as well. It has some of the best bottom reef fishing and also great trolling and one of my favourite spots. We managed to pick up three Spanish mackerel in approx one hour trolling. Once again the Wogs with Gar worked well, and are a must have in your trolling spread with rigged Gar or Ballyhoo. Check out our fishing videos on using and rigging wogs, can’t rave on about them enough. They work well with lures, and prefer two run two lures, and two baits, either swimming wolf herring or Gar on wogs. Three rocks is actually one island, but looks like three rocks with the tide in and from a distance. It is also a great anchorage for SE Winds, up to 15 knots, anything more and will get a bit rolly. The areas to target for Spanish at three rocks is the North East point, and we caught our three Spanish mackerel trolling the Southern Point on an outgoing tide. Spanish mackerel have a size limit of 75cm and bag limit of three. Only take what you need and three is heaps anyhow. We left them biting with a full esky with some nice reef fish as well, Life’s tough on the
